Thiago Motta opens up on ‘intense moments’ at Juventus following dismissal

Thiago Motta has revealed he faced “intense moments” at Juventus during his nine months at the club, Afrosport reports.

The former Italian midfielder was relieved of his duties as manager on Sunday after a poor run of results this season with Igor Tudor taking his place.

The Bianconeri are currently fifth in the Serie A table and have already been eliminated from the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.

Reacting to his dismissal, Motta told ANSA: “I have experienced intense moments, always facing them with maximum determination and the desire to improve every day.

“I thank the ownership for giving me the opportunity to be part of this great club, the management, and all the people at the club who have supported me in my daily work.

“I also thank the players for their effort and commitment from day one. I wish the fans and Juventus all the best for the future.”

Motta signed a contract until 2027 with Juventus from Bologna last summer, however poor results and a bad relationship with the dressing room ultimately cost him the most high-profile job of his managerial career.

Meanwhile, his wife Angela Lee Motta, shared a message of support on her Instagram Story, asserting better days are coming for the 42-year-old.

“The disappointment of today can be the blessing of tomorrow. Life always works towards readjustments,” read the message.

“What does not happen today is teaching you, it is making you stronger and preparing you for what is truly yours.

“Allow yourself to be sad, but do not lose your faith in life and certainty in better days, because those will be the days that allow you to keep going and not give up.

“Many wonderful things are waiting for you, and you will be grateful for having believed in yourself and in life!”

Motta previously managed at Genoa and Spezia before moving to Bologna in 2022 and helped them achieve Champions League qualification for the first time in their history.
