Italian giants Juventus on Sunday announced the sacking of former Italy international Thiago Motta as manager after just nine months in charge, Afrosport reports.
Motta, who joined Juventus on a three-year contract in June 2024, leaves the Allianz Stadium with the Bianconeri fifth in the Serie A standings, one point outside the automatic Champions League qualification spots.
The 42-year-old took charge of his last game on 16 March, a 3-0 defeat at Fiorentina, just a week after suffering a 4-0 thrashing at home to Atlanta.
“I have approached every obstacle with determination and a desire to improve every day,” Motta told the club website after his sacking.
“I’m grateful to the club’s ownership for giving me the opportunity to be part of this great team, to the management and staff for their daily support, and to the players for their hard work and dedication from day one.
“I wish Juventus and its fans all the best for the future.”
Juventus, meanwhile, have announced the appointment of former defender Igor Tudor as new manager.

The Croatian spent nine years at Juventus from 1998 to 2007, appearing 174 times for the Italian club and registering 21 goals and six assists.
Tudor, who turned to management in 2013, has coached about 10 clubs, including Hajduk Split, Galatasaray, Marseille, and most recently Lazio.
Juventus are out of the Champions League, having been knocked out in the play-offs by PSV Eindhoven. The Old Lady are also out of the Coppa Italia after losing on penalties to Empoli in the quarterfinals.
Tudor, however, will be in the dugout for the first time on Saturday, 29 March, when Juventus host Genoa at the Allianz Stadium in Serie A.
