Lewis Hamilton says he is already having feelings of nostalgia as he prepares to make his Ferrari debut at next week’s Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Afrosport reports.
The seven-time world champion has drawn the biggest attention in the paddock since he officially moved to the Scuderia this year from Mercedes.
With pre-season testing done and dusted, Hamilton will now turn his attention to the first race of the 2025 F1 season in Melbourne, and revealed it is giving him feelings like when he raced for the very first time in the sport with McLaren in 2007.
“It’s been a long winter, but it’s also been very short. But I’m really grateful we had good testing last week,” the 40-year-old said.
“I can’t believe the race is already next week, so I’m already starting to make my venture to Australia on Friday. So, that’s when it really starts to… it’ll start to sink in a little bit as the weekend arrives. This weekend, before. And I feel excited.
“I feel we are as best prepared as we could be, given the short space of time that I have had. There’s still things to learn but I’m just excited to get going. I love racing. So, all the other stuff is stuff I love less. Racing is what I love. Being at Melbourne is going to be very reminiscent of my first Grands Prix there.”
