Sudanese champions Al Hilal Omdurman on Saturday night stunned MC Alger 1-0 in Algiers, to maintain their perfect start to the CAF Champions League group stage, Afrosport reports.
In a keenly contested affair at the Stade du 5 Juillet, Guessouma Fofana’s 76th minute header secured maximum points for the Sudanese giants, and their third consecutive win.
Goalkeeper Issa Fofana made a couple of brilliant saves late on, to deny the hosts and his heroics ultimately ensured that all available points were garnered by Al Hilal Omdurman.
They now sit comfortably at the top of Group A with nine points, while MC Alger remain second with four points.
In the other Group A game, Young Africans held TP Mazembe to a 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere, AS FAR of Morocco earned a 1-1 draw away at Maniema Union of Ghana, while Stade de Abidjan also battled to a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates of South Africa, and ES Tunis defeated Pyramids 2-0.
