The new Al Hoceima Stadium in Morocco will host its first-ever match after more than a year and a half of its construction, Afrosport reports.
The stadium will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers matchday six encounter between Comoros and Madagascar, which is slated for Monday, November 18.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reportedly accepted Comoros’ request to play their final match in the qualifying round at the stadium after its committee carried out a review of the facilities and equipment of the ground.
The Coelacanths will take on The Gambia three days earlier on Friday, November 15, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, before locking horns with Madagascar at the 35,000-capacity Grand Stade d’Al-Hoceima.
Comoros are currently second in a tightly knitted Group A with six points, one less than leaders Tunisia, one more than third-placed Gambia, and four points more than Madagascar, who are bottom in the standings.
