Rasheedat Ajibade is upbeat about the Super Falcons’ chances when they face Australia for their second game at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on Thursday.
Ajibade is set for a return to Randy Waldrum’s selection after serving her suspension from the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) alongside Halimatu Ayinde.
The Atletico Madrid star is hoping to inspire Nigeria to their first win in the Mundial after their goalless draw against Canada in their opening fixture on Friday.
The 23-year-old is anticipating a tough challenge from the co-host country but she believes the Super Falcons can get the much-needed three points in Brisbane.
“It’s going to be a difficult game [because] we are playing against the host team in a big stadium with lots of crowds and a lot of things,” she told NFF TV.
“We are going to play against a lot of factors on that day, but I think we’ve got this. We have done it in big games against big teams. I trust the team because we have the capacity, talent, energy, and strength. We just have to bring our A-game.”
