Moises Caicedo says a change of attitude was what inspired Chelsea in their comeback 4-1 win over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final in Wroclaw on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
The Blues fell behind to a goal from Morocco winger Abde Ezzalzouli after just nine minutes and were on the back foot until the 65th minute when Enzo Fernandez equalised.
It was followed by strikes from Senegal forward Nicolas Jackson, Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho in the 65th and 70th minute respectively before Caicedo rounded things off in added time.
Reflecting on the comeback, the Ecuadorian midfielder said: “I think we as a team believed we could make it. It was a very difficult game. The first 45 minutes were difficult for us. But then we went back on the pitch with a different mindset. We knew we had to rise to the match. we had the chance, and we did it.”
He added: “The message is that we had to change our attitude. And that we must win all our battles. Because we weren’t winning battles during the first half. But during the second half it was evident that the team wanted to win. And we did.”
