Super Falcons remain unchanged in latest FIFA ranking

Ajibade scores brace as Super Falcons edge Cameroon in friendly in Abeokuta

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have retained their 36th position in the latest FIFA women’s world ranking released by the world football governing body on Thursday, Afrosport reports.

The Super Falcons, meanwhile, remain the highest-ranked African team in the world ahead of next month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The nine-time African champions recently defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 2-0 in an international friendly at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta earlier this month.

However, reigning African champions South Africa (54th), Morocco (60th), Cameroon (64th) and Zambia (65th) make up the top-five spots on the continent.

Globally, the United States continues to lead the ranking, with Spain, Germany, Brazil and England following behind to make up the top five.

FIFA, meanwhile, is scheduled to release the next edition of the women’s world ranking on Thursday, 7 August 2025.
