Former Sweden international Per Karlsson has been re-appointed as the fitness trainer for Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Afrosport reports.
Karlsson was pictured in the Super Falcons training alongside interim coach Justin Madugu as the players went through their paces ahead of their double-header friendly against Cameroon.
The former hammer throw athlete returns to the team, having previously worked under former Super Falcons head coach Thomas Dennerby.
Karlsson has been tasked with keeping the Super Falcons players fit as they gear up to take on Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses as part of preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
He won the 2018 WAFCON with the Super Falcons and was part of the team that got to the knockout stage at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
