The struggles continued for Manchester City as they lost 2-1 to Aston Villa at Villa Park in Saturday’s early kickoff in the Premier League, Afrosport reports.
Morgan Rogers and Jhon Duran combined to give Villa the lead in the first half with the Colombian bagging his seventh league goal of the season with his 16th minute strike.
Rogers, then got on the scoresheet in the second half, doubling Villa’s lead in the 64th minute, before City got a consolation from England international Phil Foden, who got his first Premier League goal of the season in the 93rd minute.

City, who dropped into sixth in the league standings, lost their second consecutive game in the Premier League and third in all competitions as Pep Guardiola’s side have now won just one of their last 12 games.
Villa, however, leapfrogged the visitors into fifth with 28 points after 17 games as Unai Emery’s side bounced back from last weekend’s defeat at Nottingham Forest.
At the Gtech Community Stadium, Forest handed Brentford their first home defeat in the league this season following a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Nigeria international Ola Aina and Swedish forward Anthony Elanga.

Aina opened the scoring with a neat finish in the 38th minute, while Elanga found the bottom corner six minutes into the second half to put the tie to bed, helping Forest maintain their top four position.
Alexander Isak got his first-ever Premier league hat-trick and Jacob Murphy added another to lead Newcastle United to a 4-0 rout of Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Isak scored inside the opening minute before Murphy got on the scoresheet in the 32nd minute. The Swede, however, found the back of the net in the first-half stoppage time as well as the 52nd minute to help the Magpies seal back-to-back four-nil wins in the Premier League and move into seventh.
Elsewhere, second half goals from Mats Wieffer and Mohammed Kudus ensured the spoils were shared at the Amex Stadium as West Ham United held Brighton and Hove Albion to a 1-1 stalemate as Fabian Hurzeler’s men remain without a win in five league matches.
Arsenal made it back-to-back wins in all competitions against Crystal Palace with the Gunners claiming a 5-1 win at Selhurst Park.
Gabriel Jesus, who scored a hat-trick against the Eagles in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, scored a brace either side of an Ismaila Sarr strike. Goals from Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice sealed victory for Mikel Arteta’s men.
