Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen scored his 13th Serie A goal of the season in Napoli’s 2-2 draw against Frosinone on Sunday.
The 2023 African Footballer of the Year finished off an assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 63rd to restore Napoli’s lead after Matteo Politano’s opener was cancelled.
Osimhen was in action for the entire 90 minutes and the effort took his contribution to 15 goals in 27 matches across all competitions for the Partenopei.
He is currently third in the Serie A scorer’s chart with 10 goals behind Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and two goals behind Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Meanwhile, Morocco forward Walid Cheddira – on loan from Napoli – stood out at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with his second-half brace that rescued a point for Frosinone.
Cheddira extended his Serie A tally to six goals for Frosinone who are 18th in the Serie A table and are struggling to avoid the drop.
Sunday’s result leaves Napoli unmoved in the eighth spot with 49 points from 32 games in the Italian top-flight and they are 10 points adrift of the top-four.
Next up for Osimhen and his Napoli teammates is a Serie A trip to Empoli on Saturday, April 20.
