Guirassy: How Guinea forward reached new goal milestone for Stuttgart

Guinea’s Guirassy sets Bundesliga record in Stuttgart win

Sehrou Guirassy continued his goalscoring exploits in the Bundesliga as he found the back of the net in Stuttgart’s 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Guinea international put his side in front in the 11th minute with a brilliant finish in a one-on-one situation with Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.

It was Guirassy’s 25th Bundesliga goal of the season which saw him surpass Mario Gomez (24) as Stuttgart’s highest league scorer in a single season.

Guirassy’s 25 goals is also two times better than his tally from the previous campaign (12 goals).

The former Rennes forward sits second in the goalscorers charts, seven strikes behind top marksman Harry Kane.

Deniz Undav and Jamie Leweling scored the other two goals to secure Stuttgart’s 20th league win of the season which sees them maintain third place on the table, tied on 63 points with third-placed Bayern Munich.
