Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, England-based midfielder Alex Iwobi, and eight other players arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Marrakech, Morocco, which opened on Tuesday.

Iwobi’s Fulham teammate Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Nantes midfielder Moses Simon, and fullbacks Jamilu Collins and Bruno Onyemaechi have all touched down in the Eagles camp.

Other players in camp are Rangers’ forward Cyriel Dessers, Hatayspor’s midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella, who all make a return to the national team.

Former Super Eagles winger and head coach Enyimba Finidi George will be in charge of the team tentatively until a new head coach is appointed.

The remaining players in the invited 26-man squad are expected to arrive at camp later today, with the squad set to hold their first training session at 4.30 p.m. local time.

The three-time African champions will be in action for the first time since their runners-up finish in the 2023 African Cup of Nations earlier this year when they take on the Black Stars of Ghana in their first friendly match at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Friday, March 22.

The Super Eagles will then take on the Eagles of Mali in their second friendly on Tuesday, March 26, at the same venue.
