Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is leading the fight against hunger in his country, Nigeria by distributing free bags of rice to hundreds of vulnerable households.
Ndidi, through his non-profit organisation named OWN Foundation, shared a video of the ongoing distribution of 250 bags of rice to 250 families in the West African country.
According to a recent report by the World Food Programme (WFP), about 26.5 million Nigerians are projected to face acute hunger in June-August 2024 due to insecurity in the country, rising inflation and climate crisis.

Ndidi plays a huge role in Leicester City’s quest for Premier League promotion with his solid defensive performances and his contribution of three goals in the English second tier this season.
The Foxes currently sit atop the Championship table with two points above second-placed Ipswich Town.
The 27-year-old is also an established name in the Nigeria national team and he has worn the captain’s armband on different occasions.
