Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland have been named the NBA Players of the Week for Week 12 of the 2024-25 season, Afrosport reports.

Sabonis led Sacramento to a 3-0 record in the week under review to win the Western Conference Player of the Week award for the first time this season and the fourth of his NBA career.
The 28-year-old averaged 22.0 points, 20.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game across three games as the Kings recorded wins over the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and Chicago Bulls.
The three-time All-Star overcame Kings teammates DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk, as well as Devin Booker and Kevin Durant (Suns), Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Grizzlies), Alperen Sengun (Rockets), and Russell Westbrook (Nuggets) to win the honour.
Sabonis is currently averaging 20.7 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 59.9% from the floor and 46.0% from beyond the arc across 36 games this season.

Garland, however, was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season and the third in his NBA career.
The 24-year-old led Cleveland to a 2-1 week, averaging 26.0 points and 7.7 assists per game, shooting 52.8% from the field in the week under review covering 6-12 January.

Garland helped the Cavaliers to victories over the Oklahoma City Thunder and Toronto Raptors. Across 37 games this season, the former No. 5 pick is averaging 20.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
He fended off Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), Cade Cunningham (Detroit), Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam (Pacers), Zach LaVine (Bulls), Evan Mobley (Cavs), and Kristaps Porzingis and Jayson Tatum (Celtics).
