Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has named the UEFA Europa League Player of the Season.
The Gabon international was a class apart from the rest, ending the tournament as top scorer with 10 goals after Olympique Marseille reached the semi-finals but lost to Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta 4-1 on aggregate.
The highlight for Aubameyang and his Europa League season was netting a hat-trick in a 4-3 Group B win over Ajax last November. He also scored a brace against the Dutch giants in the opening group game.
The 34-year-old equally netted a brace in a 4-0 win over Villarreal in the Round of 16 first leg while netting solo goals against Benfica in the quarter-final first leg and the two legs of the knockout playoff round against Shakhtar Donetsk.
