Manchester City on Wednesday announced the signing of Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan for a fee of £46.5 million, Afrosport reports.
Reijnders has penned a five-year deal with City until 2030 and is eligible to feature in this month’s Club World Cup in the United States.
“I am ecstatic to be signing for Manchester City,” Reijnders said. “City are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players and outstanding facilities.
“Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many titles, and I want to help keep that going with a lot more success in the coming years.”

The Netherlands international moved to Milan from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in July 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A.
He played 104 times for the Rossoneri, scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists, including 15 goals across 54 matches in all competitions last season. The Dutchman bagged 10 goals and five assists in 35 Serie A appearances and was named the league’s best midfielder for 2024-25.
“It is also a dream come true to play in the Premier League,” Reijnders added. “This league has seen many of the best Dutch players perform through the years and it’s an inspiration to follow in their footsteps.
“I am really looking forward to getting going, meeting the other players and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do.”
Reijnders becomes City’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrival of left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea and French midfielder Rayan Cherki from Lyon.
He has played 23 times and scored four goals for the Dutch national team since making his debut in September 2023. He was, however, left out of Tuesday’s 8-0 thrashing of Malta.
Reijnders could make his debut for City in the Club World Cup when they take on Wydad AC in their opening group game on 18 June.
