Back-to-back NBA MVP Nikola Jokic is set to miss Denver Nuggets’ next couple of games after entering the NBA’s Covid-19 protocols.
The Serbian star will consequently miss the Nuggets’ trip to New York Knicks on Thursday morning.
Jokic joins teammate Nah’Shon Hyland in the protocols and they will need to be cleared under NBA guidelines before returning to action.
Entering the protocols does not automatically mean that the player has the virus but it is a step taken as a safety procedure.
Jokic has been impressive for Michael Malone’s side with an average 20.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.
Denver Nuggets are currently second in the Western Conference standings with a record of nine wins and four losses so far.
