Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo and Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyonyi starred at the Lausanne Diamond League in Switzerland on Thursday.
Tebogo, the 200m Olympic champion at the Paris Games, beat the rest of the field to win the 200m race in an impressive time of 19.64 seconds.
“The most important thing for me is that even after such achievements like the ones I did at the Olympics, at the end of the day, you just have to keep running to maintain the form throughout the season,” he said.

Meanwhile, Wanyonyi came close to breaking the 800m world record set by his compatriot David Rudisha at the London 2012 Olympics.
The 20-year-old Paris Olympics gold medallist, who was just 0.20 seconds shy of Rudisha’s record, clocked a time of 1 minute 41.11seconds, to equal the second fastest time on the 800m all-time list.
“I’m so happy to have run the world lead today in Lausanne,” Wanyonyi said. “My body is moving very well. I got up to come here and told my body ‘you can do something for me, I need to run very fast’.”
