AFCON 2025 qualifiers: 10 teams secure their spot in Morocco

Ten teams have qualified for the finals of the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco following Wednesday’s action across the continent, Afrosport reports.

Forty-eight national teams across the continent are taking part in the qualifiers with 24 of them taking part in the tournament proper scheduled to begin from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) divided the teams into 12 groups for the qualifiers, while the top two teams from the eleven groups, excluding the tournament hosts Morocco, will qualify for the tournament.

Holders Ivory Coast have booked their spot along with Equatorial Guinea, Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt and Senegal.

Nine more qualifiers will be played around the continent on Thursday with the likes of Nigeria, Sudan, and Tunisia looking to book their tickets to Morocco.
