The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and Manchester United have reached an agreement to allow Andre Onana to stay with the Premier League side until January 14.
The Red Devils’ shotstopper, who made a return to the Cameroon national team in September 2023, has been included in the Indomitable Lions final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
However, rather than joining up with Rigobert Song’s side this week, Onana has been granted permission to stay with United for their crunch test against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday, January 14.
Erik Ten Hag’s men are currently eighth in the Premier League standings with 31 points after 20 games, and they will be hoping to have their No. 1 goalkeeper for Spurs’ vital visit to the Theatre of Dreams.

Onana will jet out to Ivory Coast immediately after the game, and he is expected to be available for Cameroon’s opening game against Guinea on January 15 at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro.
The five-time AFCON winners are drawn in Group C, where they will also face The Gambia and defending champions Senegal.
