Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui has expressed disappointment in his himself and the entire Manchester United team after their 3-0 derby loss to rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
Mazraoui was making his first start of the season after nursing an injury he picked up on the final day of the previous campaign and subsequently did not feature in the entire pre-season.
The 27-year-old featured for 62 minutes at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday but was not able to inspire a positive result as United lost their second game of the season and now have their poorest start since 1992-93 when the Premier League began.
“I am feeling bad,” Mazraoui told MUTV. “Disappointed in myself, in the team, and disappointed for the fans that we couldn’t bring the performance we did lately [in this match].
“If you lose and you play good and you have the chances we created in previous games, you can take some positives. But [it]was just not good enough.
“It is hard to say [where specifically it went wrong] because you are always full of emotion after the game, so I always try to calm down and try to analyse the game.
“Otherwise, I will just point fingers and often it is not something I point out now. We will analyse it as a team and improve.”
