Anthony Joshua has been injured in a car crash in Nigeria that left two other people dead, Afrosport reports.
Joshua was in a sports utility van (SUV) when it smashed into a stationary truck shortly after 11am on Monday on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the Makun area of Ogun state.
Footage showed the 36-year-old British-Nigerian boxer, topless and dazed, sitting in the wreckage. He reportedly sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, diclosed: “I am away on a family holiday and awoke to the news of this incident.
“We are trying to contact Anthony and in the meantime we don’t want to speculate on how he is but thankfully he appears OK from what I have seen in the images.
“We are awaiting more information on what has happened and will update in due course.”
It is understood that Joshua was seated behind the driver, along with another passenger, when the crash occurred.
Four people were inside the SUV at the time, while his security detail followed in a separate vehicle.
