Hellas Verona defensive midfielder Reda Belahyane have been called up to the Morocco national team to replace Fiorentina’s Amir Richardson ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Gabon and Lesotho, Afrosport reports.
Richardson sustained an injury during the Atlas Lions’ training camp currently taking place at the Mohammed V football complex in Casablanca.

Meanwhile, Toulouse FC’s Zakaria Aboukhlal has been called up to replace Ilias Akhomach. Akhomach is set to miss the remainder of the season after he suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and a sprain of the internal lateral ligament in his right knee.

The Atlas Lions are top of Group B with a 100% record and will face Gabon on Friday in Franceville before facing Lesotho three days later in Oujda.
