Madagascar temporarily moved to the top of Group I in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after recording a 4-1 away win over the Central African Republic in Casablanca on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
Hugo Gambor put the Central Africans in front in the ninth minute but the Malagasy came back with Rayan Raveloson netting twice between the 17th and 21st minute.
The Island nation were able to add two more in the second half through Arnaud Randrianantenaina and Lalaina Cliver Rafanomezantsoa.
The victory sent Madagascar top of Group I , one point ahead of Comoros and Ghana who play Mali and Chad respectively on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, five-time African champions Cameroon failed to go three points clear at the top of Group D after they were held to a goalless draw by Eswatini who picked up their first point in the qualifiers.

North African giants Tunisia recorded a valuable 1-0 win away at Liberia in Monrovia, thanks to Hazem Mastouri’s fourth minute goal, which took them five points clear of Namibia, and six clear of the Liberians in Group H.
