A minute later, they were gifted another goal as Senegalese defender Aicha Kales put the ball into her own net. Nigeria made it four in the 80th minute as Chioma Olise got the final goal of the match.
The win ensured that the Falconets, who have kept two clean sheets in as many games, would finish atop Group B and progress to the semi-finals as they looked to defend their gold medal.
They will be in action next on Monday, March 18, when they will take on the second-placed team in Group A for a place in the final.
