Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has completed a move to Qatar Stars League side Al Ahli SC, Afrosport reports.
The 32-year-old centre-back joins the Qatari club from Saudi Professional League outfit Al Kholood, where he was a key figure, making 49 appearances and scoring two goals.
Troost-Ekong has signed a contract with Al Ahli that will keep him at the club until June 2028.
Confirming his arrival, Al Ahli announced on their official Instagram page: “He’s here, he’s ready. Welcome to the club, William. Let’s make history together.”
Renowned for his leadership and experience, the former Nigeria captain is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Al Ahli’s defensive line.
Al Ahli currently occupy ninth place in the Qatar Stars League standings with 15 points, sitting four points above the relegation zone.
Troost-Ekong’s arrival comes as the club looks to climb the table, starting with their upcoming league clash against Qatar SC later this month.
