WAFU B U17: Garba unveils final 20-man Golden Eaglets squad for tournament 

Golden Eaglets head coach, Manu Garba, has named his final 20-man squad to represent Nigeria at the 2025 WAFU-B U17 Boys Tournament, Afrosport reports.

Garba has selected three goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders and six forwards to his team ahead of the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

Goalkeeper duo Aquila Ahur amd Great Edafe are joined on the list by Abdullateef Lasisi and Mubarak Rasheed in defence, midfielders Paul Ugwu and Famous Umole, as well as forwards Wisdom Innocent and George Agha.

Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets players and technical team will depart Nigeria for Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday.

Garba’s side played a total of 13 warm-up friendlies, scoring 25 goals and letting in five, on their way to claiming 10 victories, two draws and one loss. Their most recent outing ended in a goalless draw with Mop Stars FC on Monday.

Nigeria are drawn in Group B alongside Benin Republic and Burkina Faso. Group A, however, comprises hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Niger Republic, Ghana and Togo.

The five-time world champions will kick off their WAFU-B U17 Boys campaign against Benin’s Baby Cheetahs on Wednesday, 24 September, before facing the Burkinabes three days later
