Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has been charged by European football governing body UEFA for an altercation with Liverpool fans in the 3-2 Champions League defeat at Anfield last week, Afrosport reports.
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk scored a header in the 92nd minute to hand the Reds all three points and send their supporters into raptures.
There was however a moment of chaos when Simeone clashed with the home support by reacting angrily towards them and was shown a red card for his actions, which will see him miss their next match against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Metropolitano next Tuesday.
Liverpool were also charged by UEFA over the conduct of their fans in throwing objects towards the direction of Atletico Madrid.
Arne Slot’s side have maintained a 100% record since the start of the Premier League and will face Turkish giants Galatasaray in Istanbul in their next league phase match.
