Tottenham Hotspur have extended Heung-Min Son’s contract by a further year by triggering a clause his existing deal, Afrosport reports.
Son’s contract was due to expire at the end of the ongoing season but Spurs had no reason to panic having as they inserted an extension option in his deal signed in 2021.
The 32-year-old has made 431 appearances for the North London side since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, scoring 169 goals and providing 90 assists and is currently the team captain after being appointed by Ange Postecoglou.
The contract renewal puts an end to a any rumour or alleged speculation over his the South Korea international’s future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Talks were very brief as Son’s compliance was very immediate which made the negotiations very smooth.
Son will be in action once more as Tottenham face Liverpool in the first leg of their EFL Cup semifinal on Wednesday.
