Barcelona on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia from local rivals Espanyol, Afrosport reports.
The Spanish champions met the 25 million euro release clause in Garcia’s Espanyol contract, bringing an end to his time at the club where he has been since the age of 15.
Garcia, meanwhile, will sign a six-year contract until 2031 with Barcelona, having enjoyed a successful 2024-25 La Liga campaign where he made the most saves (146) of any goalkeeper.

The 24-year-old will join Germany international Marc-André ter Stegen and former Poland international Wojciech Szczesny as goalkeeping options for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants, who won the domestic treble, had to force Szczesny out of retirement after Ter Stegen suffered a serious knee injury.
Barcelona clinched their 28th La Liga title, while Espanyol, who lost both legs of their league tie to Hansi Flick’s side, finished 14th.
