Players and officials of Nigeria’s Super Falcons have started arriving in the city of Angers, France, on Wednesday ahead of their friendly against France’s Les Bleues, Afrosport reports.
The much-anticipated match, which is slated for Saturday, November 30, marks the second time the Super Falcons will face their French counterpart in an international friendly—following a disappointing 8-0 defeat at the Marie Marvingt Stadium in Le Mans in April 2018.
The nine-time African champions, however, have measured up against Les Bleues in recent times as the Super Falcons were undone by a penalty from Wendie Renard in their last meeting at the Roazhon Park during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup hosted by France.
Super Falcons interim head coach Justine Madugu invited 20 players for the friendly match, which follows their 6-1 thrashing of Algeria’s Green Ladies in a two-legged friendly in Nigeria in October.
The Super Falcons will lock horns against Les Bleues at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers, with kick-off set for 9:30 pm local time (the same time in Nigeria).
