The Nigerian women’s amputee national football team, the Special Falcons, have been drawn in Group C of the 2024 Women’s Amputee Football World Cup, taking place in Barranquilla, Colombia, Afrosport reports.
The event, which is bringing female amputee footballers together from across the world for the very time and is seen as a bold move towards inclusion and diversity in global sports, will take place from November 4- 10, 2024.
The Special Falcons are already preparing for the mundial, with closed training sessions currently taking place in Abuja.

In other groups from the draws held in Colombia’s capital city Bogota on Wednesday, host nation Colombia are in Group A with South American neighbours Brazil as well as Poland and Nigeria’s neighbours Cameroon.
Group B meanwhile is made up of a third African representative in Kenya followed by England, Peru and Haiti.
