Sierra Leone mourn death of former coach & FA President Nahim Khadi

Sierra Leone football community has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Leone Stars coach and former President of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Nahim Khadi.

Khadi passed away at the age of 75 in London on Tuesday.

He served as the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association from 2004 to 2012, before tendering his resignation.

Khadi was a retired footballer who played for Sierra Leonean national team between the 1960s and 1970s, and he also played for five home-based clubs including East End Lions, Mighty Blackpool and Old Edwardians.

The SLFA shared a condolence message that paid tribute to Khadi’s impact to the Sierra Leone’s football administration and development.

It read: “His impact on Sierra Leone Football both as a player and a football administrator will forever be remembered.

“The President Thomas Daddy Brima, Executive Committee, and the General Secretariat of the Sierra Leone Football Association send our deepest condolences to the Khadi family and friends.

“We are wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.”
