Semenyo: Ghana forward’s strike seals victory for 10-man Bournemouth

Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal as Bournemouth recorded a 1-0 Premier League win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Wednesday night.

The game was a reunion for Cherries boss Garry O’Neil against his former employers and it was Semenyo who made the difference with his effort in the 37th minute which was as a result of a ricochet off Max Kilman.

It was the Ghanaian’s eighth Premier League goal of the season which is the second-highest for Bournemouth behind Dominic Solanke’s tally of 18 goals.

Wolves had the opportunity to equalise in the 65th minute through Hwang Hee-Chan but his effort was ruled out for a foul in the built up.

Bournemouth were reduced to 10 men when Milos Kerkez was given a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Matt Doherty in the 79th minute.

Kilman had the ball in the back of the net in added time for Wolves but VAR ruled it out for offside, handing Bournemouth all three points.
