Saliba disappointed over Arsenal’s clean sheet failure in North London Derby

William Saliba said he was disappointed by Arsenal’s failure to keep a clean sheet in Sunday’s North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League which ended 2-2.

The Gunners went ahead when Cristian Romero put the ball into his own net in the 26th minute before Spurs leveled three minutes to the halftime break courtesy of South Korea forward Heung-Min Son.

Arsenal re-established their lead in the 54th minute via Bukayo Saka’s penalty only for Son to equalise almost immediately, becoming the first Tottenham player to net a brace in the backyard of their fierce rivals since John Hendry did in May 1993.

“I try to help my team [to get at their] maximum, but I’m not so happy because we didn’t keep a clean sheet. I hope we’ll keep one in the next game,” Saliba told the club website.

“Thanks to all the fans, for every game, because we feel better, we feel stronger when they are here. So, thanks, and we’ll be better for them.”

Arsenal and Tottenham are tied on 14 points each in fifth and fourth place respectively on the table, and also remain unbeaten after six matches with four wins and two draws apiece.
