Mohamed Salah could break more records when Liverpool take on Leicester City in the Premier League on Friday night.
The Egypt international was the star of the show when the Reds saw off Aston Villa 3-1 on Boxing Day.
Salah opened the scoring in the fifth minute at Villa Park before he turned provider for Virgil van Dijk for the second goal.
The assist was Salah’s 50th for Liverpool which made him only the second player to score 50 goals and also have as many assists, after Steven Gerrard (120 goals, 92 assists).
Salah’s goal also drew him level with Kenny Dalglish on 172 goals. One more strike against Leicester City on Friday will make him become the outright seventh-highest goalscorer in Liverpool history, behind Ian Rush (346), Roger Hunt (285), Gordon Hodgson (241), Billy Liddell (228), Gerrard (186), and Robbie Fowler (183).
Should Salah also score against Leicester, it would see him equal Fowler on 105 Premier League goals which is the record for most goals scored with a left-foot.
Salah with seven Premier League goals so far this season, is also the African with the most goals in the Premier League with 127 goals.
