Remo Stars have been docked three points along with other sanctions for the assault on referee Ndubuisi Ukah and disruption of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 12 tie against Gombe United.
The match which was played on Sunday had to be called off and concluded on Monday morning after Ukah was assaulted in the dressing room at halftime with Remo Stars failing to provide adequate security for the match Officials.
The Interim Management Committee (IMC) in a ruling found Remo Stars in breach of the league rules.
As a result, the Ikenne-based outfit have been fined ₦500,000 and must pay Ukah ₦250,000 as compensation, all within seven working days. They have also been deducted three points and Gombe United awarded a 3-0 win after the game ended goalless initially.

Remo Stars general manager, Ekene Adams, was identified as the culprit of the assault and has been banned from all NPFL activities for the rest of the season.
The Sky Blues have 48 hours to accept the IMC ruling or have the option to appear before a disciplinary panel.
Remo Stars are currently third on the NPFL Group A table with 21 points and could fall behind Plateau United and Enyimba and drop to fifth if the points deduction comes into effect.
