Real Madrid recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over RB Salzburg in Philadelphia on Thursday to finish top of Group H in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Afrosport reports.
Los Blancos came into the game at Lincoln Financial Field off the back of a 3-1 win over Mexican side Pachuca with 10 men in Charlotte.
Victory against Salzburg was going to guarantee top spot and they were in front after 40 minutes when Brazilian sensation Vinicius Jr latched on to Jude Bellingham’s sublime pass and buried the ball into bottom corner of the net.
Vinicius turned provider for the second goal in added time as he backheeled for Federico Valverde to score his second goal of the tournament.
The scores remained 2-0 until the 84th minute when youngster Gonzalo Garcia made a darting run into the box and chipped the ball over Salzburg goalkeeper Christian Zawieschitzky.

Xabi Alonso’s men topped the group with seven points, two points ahead of Al Hilal who defeated Pachuca 1-0 in Nashville to become the only team from Asia to make to the round of 16.
Madrid will get to face Juventus in Miami Gardens for a place in the quarter-finals while Al Hilal will tackle Manchester City in Orlando.
