Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has hailed the Super Eagles dominant display in the victory against Rwanda in Friday’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Hon. Adeboye, who is the Chairman of the 2026 World Cup Strategy Committee, was full of joy after Victor Osimhen’s brace steered Eric Chelle’s men to a comfortable 2-0 win at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
He also expressed satisfaction with the Super Eagles’ dominance that rejuvenated Nigerians’ confidence in the team’s potential to secure a ticket for the global tournament that will take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Adeboye, who is working alongside the National Sports Commission (NSC) for development of various sports including football across Nigeria, has charged the Super Eagles to build on their winning momentum against Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday.
“I am totally elated about this very outstanding victory and performance of the Super Eagles, I want to sincerely convey my warmest congratulations to the team on their impressive victory against the Rwandan national team in Kigali” Adeboye said.
“This triumph is a testament to the Super Eagles’ hard work, dedication, and perseverance. The outstanding performance has once again made our nation proud, showcasing the rich football talents and resilience that define Nigerian sports.
“This victory has revived our chances of qualifying for the World Cup and I am optimistic we will further boost our chances with a victory against Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday, by the special grace of God.
