Premier league: Tottenham demolish Man City as returning Saka stars for Arsenal

Manchester City broke all the wrong records on Saturday when they lost 4-0 at home to Tottenham Hostspur in the Premier League on Saturday, Afrosport reports.

It was a terrible game defensively for City as James Madison’s brace put City 2-0 up in the opening 20 minutes.

Pedro Porro added the third before Brennan Johnson made it 4-0 in added time to increase City’s woes as it made it five consecutive losses, a first in manager Pep Guardiola’s career and a first for City in 18 years.

It was also the first time in  two years that the defending champions have lost at home and remain five points behind league leaders, Liverpool who have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka was on the scoresheet as Arsenal defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey doubled the Gunner’s lead before substitute Ethan Nwaneri added the third towards the closing stages.

Chelsea made it  10 wins in their last 14 visits to Leicester City as they recorded a 2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez while Ghana forward Jordan Ayew scored from the penalty spot for the Foxes.

In other Saturday results, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace played out a 2-2 draw at Villa Park, Everton and 10-man Brentford played out a goalless draw while 10-man Brighton defeated Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium and Wolverhampton Wanderers got the better of Fulham at Craven Cottage 4-1.
