Cameroon forward Bryan Mbuemo scored a late goal to ensure Brentford secured a dramatic comeback 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town in one of the Premier League matches played on Saturday, Afrosport reports.
Ipswich scored twice in three minutes courtesy of goals from Sam Szmodics and George Hirst. However, their excitement was short-lived as goals from DR Congo forward Yoanne Wissa and an unfortunate Harry Clarke own goal ensured Brentford went into the break on level terms.
Mbuemo gave the home side the lead from the spot in the 51st minute after Clarke brought down Keane Lewis-Potter in the box and was subsequently booked for the foul.
It was a case of deja vu as Clarke’s miserable outing continued, as he once again fouled Lewis-Potter, this time outside the box and the English defender received his marching orders reducing Ipswich to 10 men.
Against the run of play, substitute Liam Delap scored for Ipswich to make it 3-3 with four minutes remaining, however, in the last minute of added time, Mbuemo broke the hearts of the pockets of traveling fans as his left-footed cross into the box evaded everyone and settled in the bottom corner, to hand Brentford all three points.
The result means the Bees remain unbeaten at the GTech Community Stadium this season, while Ipswich are yet to record a victory from nine matches played.

In other matches played on Saturday, Erling Haaland’s fifth-minute strike ensured Manchester City defeated Southampton 1-0 to go top of the log with 23 points.
Elsewhere, Evanilson scored in the sixth minute of added time to hand Everton a 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa just as Beto scored in the 94th minute to force a 1-1 home draw against Fulham at the Molineux.
Former Arsenal teammates Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith-Rowe combined to give the visitors the lead, but they failed to see the game through as they conceded an equaliser deep into stoppage time.
In the last fixture of the day, Brighton and Hove Albion threw away a two-goal lead as they shared the spoils with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In Friday’s only fixture, Chris Wood scored a brace to help Nottingham Forest record a 3-1 victory away at Leicester City.
The action continues on Sunday with Arsenal hosting Liverpool in a top-of-the-table tie, Chelsea host Newcastle United and Manchester United played West Ham United at the London Stadium.
