Chelsea got back to winning ways in the Premier League on Tuesday night with a 4-0 thrashing of bottom-placed Southampton at Stamford Bridge, Afrosport reports.

The Blues, who were without a win in three games in all competitions, got off to a great start against the Saints as French forward Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with his third league goal of the season.

Levi Colwill scored Chelsea’s third in the 44th minute, heading home Neto’s free kick for his first league goal of the season. Enzo Maresca’s men wrapped up the victory with their fourth goal in the 78th minute, with Marc Cucurella finishing emphatically into the bottom corner from a Tyrique George cutback.

The win puts Chelsea back into the top four with 46 points from 27 games, while Southampton remain bottom with just nine points.

Although Villa drew level seven minutes into the second half through Morgan Rogers, the in-form Jean-Philippe Mateta put the hosts back in front with his 12th league goal of the campaign.
