Super Eagles winger Ahmed Musa was the star of the show as Kano Pillars secured a 4-3 win away at Enugu Rangers on Wednesday, in matchday seven in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Afrosport reports.
Veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali opened the scoring from the spot in the 15th minute, converting his third goal of the season after Musa’s cross was handled by a Rangers defender.
Zulkifilu Muhammad then doubled Pillars’ advantage in the 28th minute, courtesy of an assist from the in-form Musa. The Kano-based club made it three through Ali, who converted again from the penalty spot in the 37th minute, after Musa was fouled in the box.
Then the former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow forward, Musa, sealed Pillars’ first-half rout with a solo effort just before half time, beating four Rangers defenders to score his third goal of the season.
The reigning NPFL champions attempted a comeback in the second half, but a brace from Saviour Isaac in the 46th and 59th minutes, as well as Nenrot Silas’ 90th minute effort was, however, not enough to earn them a point inside the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
