Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers has been nominated for Rangers’ Player of the Month award for March, Afrosport reports.
Dessers has been in good form since Barry Ferguson took over as interim coach at Rangers, helping the team reach the quarter-final of the Europa League after beating Fenerbahce in the last 16.
The 30-year-old scored three goals in five matches in the month under review, including his finding the back of the net in his 100th appearance for the club.
Dessers kicked off by scoring Rangers’ only goal in a 2-1 loss to Motherwell before bagging a goal and assist in the first leg against Fenerbahce.
Although he drew a blank in their next two games, the Nigerian scored once again in a 4-3 lead win over Dundee FC last weekend.
Dessers has scored 23 goals and provided seven assists in 46 matches across all competitions this season for the Light Blues.
He will have to fend off competition from Nico Raskin, Vaclav Cerny, John Souttar, and Ivorian Mohamed Diomande to win the accolade.
Rangers, meanwhile, are in action in the Scottish Premiership this weekend, with a home clash against Hibernian on Saturday on the cards, before facing Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League next Thursday.
