Nigerian forward Moffi nominated for Ligue 1 POTM award

Moffi to battle Hakimi, nine others for Marc-Vivien Foe award

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has been nominated for the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for September after his eye-catching performances for OGC Nice.

The 24-year-old, who is currently with the Nigerian squad in Portugal ahead of their doubleheader of international friendlies, is up for the award against club teammate and Polish goalkeeper Marcin Bulka and Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot, who plies his trade for Brest.

Moffi shone for Nice in September with two goals and an assist to maintain their unbeaten start to the new campaign.

The former Lorient man kicked off with a goal against Strasbourg in his side’s 2-0 win earlier in the month. He then bagged a brace and provided an assist in their famous 3-2 win over defending champion Paris Saint-Germain, Nice’s first win at the Parc des Princes in 14 years.

The Nigeria international will be gunning to win the accolade for the first time since he moved to France in 2020 from Belgian side Kortrijk.
