Nigeria announce March friendlies with Ghana & Mali

Super Eagles soar to 28th in latest FIFA ranking after AFCON 2023 success

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Ghana and Mali during the March international window in Morocco.

Nigeria are currently without a coach after Jose Peseiro’s exit but they will play the West African countries as part of preparations for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

They will first play Ghana in Marakkech on March 22 then they face Mali in the same Moroccan city on March 26.

Argentina initially announced a friendly game with Nigeria for this month but it was called off owing to visa issues for the West African country’s delegation.

The games will be Nigeria’s first engagement since they lost to Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final on February 11.

On the other hand, Ghana failed to make it out of the group stage of AFCON 2023 while Mali were knocked out in the quarter-final stage by eventual winners.
