The New Orleans Pelicans will be without two-time NBA All-Star Zion Williamson for an extended period as the 24-year-old has suffered a left hamstring strain, Afrosport reports.
The Pelicans revealed on Saturday that Williamson will be out indefinitely after an MRI scan confirmed the extent of his injury.

Williamson sustained the injury in the second half of their 131-122 home defeat to the East-leading Cleveland Cavaliers at Smoothie King Center on Wednesday night and was forced to miss their loss to the Magic in Orlando on Friday.
The former No. 1 pick ended the game with 29 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in 29 minutes against the Cavaliers.
He is averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists while shooting 45.2% from the floor, having played in six of New Orleans’ 10 games this season.
Williamson’s injury comes at a bad period for the Pelicans, who currently have a 3-7 win-loss record and sit 14th in the Western Conference standings, as they are also without guard Dejounte Murray (fractured left hand), C.J. McCollum (adductor injury), Herb Jones (right shoulder strain), Trey Murphy III (right hamstring strain), and Jordan Hawkins (low back strain).
The Pelicans, winless in four straight games, will host the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night before heading to Paycom Center in Oklahoma to take on the Thunder.
