Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will face off in the UEFA Europa League final at Athletic Bilbao’s San Mames on Wednesday, 21 May, in a crunch battle between two English clubs.
United navigated their way through Bilbao on Thursday, beating the La Liga club 4-1 at Old Trafford and 7-1 on aggregate, while Spurs go through 5-1 on aggregate after a 2-0 win at Bodo/Glimt.

After Alejandro Garnacho’s missed chance early on for the Red Devils, Bilbao broke the deadlock through midfielder Mikel Jauregizar, whose stunning 31st-minute strike provided a bit of hope for the over four thousand travelling fans inside Old Trafford and many back in Spain.
Garnacho once again squandered another golden chance to draw United level as the Argentine failed to find the back of the net with only the goalkeeper to beat after he was played through on goal by Patrick Dorgu.
The match restarted after the halftime break, and the visitors were on top in the early stages as both teams made a trio of changes.
The substitutions immediately benefitted United as Mason Mount, who came on for Manuel Ugarte, scored the equaliser in the 72nd minute with a curling effort into the far bottom corner.
Ruben Amorim’s men completed the comeback seven minutes later as a Bruno Fernandes free kick found the head of Casemiro, whose glancing header found the back of the net.
Rasmus Hojlund made it three for United, with the Danish forward tapping home from close range after brilliant play on the right from Amad Diallo, while Mount completed his brace to make it four for the hosts after catching the goalkeeper off his line.

Meanwhile, at Aspmyra Stadion, Tottenham clinched a well-deserved victory over Bodo/Glimt thanks to second-half goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro.
Solanke swept home a header from Cristian Romero in the 63rd minute, while Porro’s cross from the right side inadvertently found the back of the net to seal victory for Spurs.

The final at San Mames will be a chance at redemption for two clubs that have endured a disappointingly forgettable domestic season but have enjoyed a blinder of a European campaign.
It is beyond bragging rights, as it provides both Premier League clubs with a chance to save their season and secure Champions League football for next season.
