Authorities of the Nigeria Premier Football League have sanctioned Katsina United with financial fine for breaching the league’s dress code in their 1-0 losw to Sporting Lagos on Sunday.
Katsina United were found guilty of beaching rule B9.7 for inappropriate display of player’s surname, Yahaya with jersey number 27.
The Changi Boys were also charged for beaching rule C9 for improper conduct of its officials after their kit manager harassed the first assistant referee.
Consequently, Katsina United were fined one million naira for the inappropriate display of the player’s name and the erring kit manager was slapped with a one-year van from all NPFL activities for improper conduct.
Gombe United also got a hefty punishment of seven million naira and a one-match stadium ban for disruption of live broadcast, failure to provide adequate security and the throwing of objects on the field by their fans.
